Privacy & data handling

Your data stays yours.

racely.ai is built for track drivers, not data brokers. This page explains how we handle logs, video, and any personal information you share with us.

What we collect

When you use racely.ai, you may share:

  • Telemetry & logs from devices like AIM, Garmin Catalyst, VBox, RaceChrono, etc.
  • Onboard video from cameras such as GoPro, Insta360, Garmin, or your phone.
  • Session context like track, date, car, tires, and notes about setup or conditions.
  • Account information such as your name, email, and any preferences you provide.

How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Generate debriefs, insights, and suggestions to help you go faster and be more consistent.
  • Improve racely.ai’s analysis quality and feature set in aggregate (for example, learning common patterns in braking or cornering), without exposing your identity or raw files to other customers.
  • Communicate with you about your account, new features, and early access opportunities.

How long we keep it

By default, logs and videos are stored only as long as needed to generate your debrief and maintain basic session history. Over time, we’ll offer more explicit controls so you can choose:

  • Short-term storage (single-event focus).
  • Season-long history and trends.
  • Team or coach-sharing workspaces.

Early access drivers help shape how these options behave. We’ll clearly document any changes before they go live.

Sharing & third parties

We do not sell your data. We do not share your raw logs or video with third parties without your explicit permission. We may use trusted infrastructure providers (cloud hosting, storage, analytics) to run the service, but they are not allowed to use your data for their own purposes.

Your choices

You can always:

  • Ask what data we hold for your account.
  • Request deletion of specific sessions or your entire account data (subject to legal/operational limits).
  • Change your communication preferences for emails and product updates.

Security

We treat driver data as sensitive. We use modern security practices and cloud services to protect your data in transit and at rest. As racely.ai grows, we’ll continue to harden security controls and publish more detail about the measures in place.
